Labels

ScanSPOT prints labels for a position on the device, for example at the warehouse receipt for the received goods. Which label is printed when is specified by the Label Matrix.

Setting up labels

You can find the Labels - ScanSPOT page with the search. A label connects a report with a layout and saved report parameters.

FieldDescription
Code / DescriptionIdentification of the label.
Report ID / Report NameReport that is printed.
Report Layout Name / Report Layout CaptionLayout of the report, selection via drilldown.

Actions:

  • Set Report Parameters opens the request page of the report and saves the settings on the label.
  • Label Matrix shows the matrix lines of this label.

A label that is used in the label matrix cannot be deleted.

Report "ScanSPOT Standard Label"

The standard label in the format 62 × 100 mm contains item number, description, quantity, unit of measure, lot, serial number, and the company logo from the Company Information.

On the request page, you specify in the groups 1D Barcode Settings and 2D Barcode Settings which data is printed as a barcode and in which symbology. The options are task no., item no., variant, quantity, unit of measure, location, bin, item reference, serial no., and lot no. Business Central generates the barcodes via the font providers IDAutomation 1D and 2D.

As the item reference, ScanSPOT prints the item identifier, otherwise an item reference of type Bar Code.

Instead of the standard report, you can also specify your own reports and layouts.

Label Matrix

The Label Matrix - ScanSPOT page specifies for which positions which label is printed.

Printing

  • Automatically: when a position is confirmed, if the matrix returns a label.
  • Manually: via Print Label on the position card. The action appears only if a label matches.

Printing goes directly to the printer that is set up for the report.
