Inventory Overview

In the Inventory Overview, you scan a bin, an item, a lot, or a serial number on the device and see where which inventory is located. The page only displays information: It does not create documents and does not post anything.

Setup

In the handling setup, enable the Inventory Overview handling area. There are no further settings: The handling area has no configuration and no location unlocking.

All locations for which the user is a warehouse employee are taken into account, except in-transit locations, as well as inventory without a location code. The Inventory Overview is included in the license plans Standard and Enterprise, but not in ScanSPOT Phys. Inv. Only.

Opening and operation

In the Task Menu, open the entry Inventory Overview.

Scan with the hardware scanner, with the camera (Scan Barcode), or type the barcode into the Barcode field. The page stays open; each new scan replaces the result. All quantities are shown in the base unit of measure.

What can be scanned

ScanSPOT searches each barcode simultaneously as bin, item, lot, and serial number. ScanSPOT finds items via item reference, item identifier, or item number, and bins, lots, and serial numbers only on an exact match. If the barcode matches several hits or the bin code exists at several locations, you choose what is to be shown. A recognized barcode is acknowledged with the confirmation tone. If ScanSPOT finds nothing, the error tone sounds, and the previous result remains.

tip

The item search also searches descriptions and other fields for the barcode. Therefore, a bin or lot barcode can also match an item. Keep the number ranges for items, bins, lots, and serial numbers separate from each other as far as possible, so that a barcode results in only one hit.
