Hosting on GitHub Pages
The site is delivered through GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open the site, GitHub processes your IP address and technical information such as browser, operating system and time of access in server logs. GitHub needs this data to deliver the site and to protect it against attacks. We have no access to these logs.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and available documentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The transfer to the USA is therefore covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Details are in the GitHub privacy statement.
Downloads via Microsoft Azure
The files on the Releases page are stored in Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, in a data center in the West Europe region (Netherlands). Copies of the files are stored only within this data center. Only when you click a download does your browser load the file directly from Microsoft. Microsoft processes your IP address and the technical information of the request.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the software reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The processing takes place in the EU. For possible access from the USA, Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More in the Microsoft privacy statement.
Storage in the browser
The site stores some settings in your browser's local storage (localStorage). These entries stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.

The entries are required for functions you choose yourself (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). No consent is required for this. You can delete the entries at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). To do so, write to kontakt@spots-bss.com.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen).
